Faith
in the Academy
September 30-October 2, 2004
Messiah College
The Faith in the Academy conference will explore the different ways
religious faith is present on American college and university campuses.
It will also address the many ways in which scholarship and faith can
aid each other. Church-related higher education will receive special attention,
but all institutions of higher learning are included.
An important point
of reference for the conference as a whole is Scholarship and Christian
Faith: Enlarging the Conversation (Oxford, 2004). Registrants for
the meeting will receive a free copy of this book which develops a fresh,
new vision of how scholarship and Christian faith can be combined in positive
and hopeful ways.
Conference Location
The conference
will be held on the campus of Messiah College which is located on 400
acres of scenic rural countryside, in southcentral Pennsylvania. The campus
is located about 10 miles outside of Harrisburg, the State Capital of
Pennsylvania and is approximately 20 minutes from Harrisburg International
Airport. Grantham is within a 2 hours drive from large cities such as
Philadelphia, Washington D.C. and Baltimore.
