Oxford Study Abroad Programme

Academically-strong students spend a semester participating in one-on-one tutorials with Oxford professorsat New College, Christ Church, Trinity College and (Magdalen - Visiting Students Only). The 12 - 13 week program also includes 5 educational tours each semester. Click here to explore courses that may be offered through the Oxford Study Abroad Programme. Students take two tutiorial: a 5 credit and an 8 credit tutorial during their time at Oxford.

Requirements
Students must have completed two full years of college and have at least a 3.0 GPA (3.6 for visiting students) to qualify for the program. Students are required to attend all Messiah-run pre-departure orientation sessions the semester before studying abroad as well as half-day reentry retreat upon returning to campus the following semester.

Credits
The 13 credits earned may meet general education or major requirements. Courses taken will appear on Messiah transcripts with letter grades. Please refer to the grade conversion chart .

Students will meet their third language/cross-cultural requirement by participating in this program.  Students will not earn 3 credits, rather the requirement will be waived.

Costs: 2013 - 2014  $18,885, plus deposit

For affiliate students: Fee covers tuition, housing, *round-trip international airfare, educational excursions, pre-departure, and re-entry orientation. Meals are not included.  There are significant additional fees for students who wish to apply for Visiting Student Status.  Note: addtional fees students may encounter include (but are not limited to) local transportation, visas, passports, immunizations, and course fees.  

For comparison, a typical semester in Grantham for 2013-2014 is $19,655.

Note: *Once flights are booked, students are responsible for the cost of the flight if they cannot participate for any reason, including visa issues.  Students are responsible for their own transportation to and from the jumping off point in the United States.

Costs: 2014-2015 – Messiah College is currently reviewing its parameters and pricing structure for study abroad programs.  Costs for 2014-2015 will be available in November 2013 and will be posted on this website as soon as they become available.

Application Deadlines

A $300 deposit will be required on acceptance to the program.
