Message from the Director
Welcome to the graduate program in Higher Education at Messiah College. We are an engaged community of students and faculty with a common interest in the scholarship and professional practice of higher education. Our program focuses on preparing outstanding educational leaders who are equipped to be agents of innovation and renewal in a broad range of higher education contexts.
Our curriculum includes coursework in strategic leadership, equity issues, organizational theory, assessment, research methods, and legal and ethical issues. Our program offers concentrations in college athletics management, and student affairs administration; in addition, we offer the opportunity to create your own focus of higher education study. We emphasize the connections between theoretical foundations and educational practice. As a program participant, you will strengthen your capacity to lead, enhance your professional network, cultivate a professional identity rooted in Christian faith, and nurture meaningful relationships with students and faculty.
If you desire to make a difference in and through higher education, we invite you to consider the Master of Arts in Higher Education program at Messiah College. I hope you will contact me to learn more about the opportunities we offer.
Warmly,
Cynthia A. Wells, Ph.D.
Program Director, M.A. in Higher Education
Assistant Professor of Higher Education/Fellow, The Ernest L. Boyer Center
