Kati Haynes Gulde is Adjunct Lecturer in Flute at Messiah College, where she teaches private flute lessons, coaches chamber music, directs the Flute Ensemble, instructs the flute portion of the Woodwinds Methods class, and serves as the flutist of the Messiah College Faculty Woodwind Quintet. Ms Gulde has an active freelance career, and she has played flute and piccolo for the Harrisburg Opera, the Moscow Ballet, Lancaster Symphony, Pottstown Symphony, the Summer Opera Theater of Washington, Asheville Symphony, St. George’s Choral Society of New York, the Allentown Marine Band, Élan Artists of New York, and the Wilmington String Ensemble. She taught flute for 3 years at the Lehigh Valley Community Music School. Ms. Gulde earned a Master of Music in Flute Performance from the Peabody Conservatory, where she studied with world-renown flute soloist Marina Piccinini. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Brown University, as well as a Vordiplom from the Hochschule für Musik Köln, Abteilung Aachen in Aachen, Germany. Brown University awarded Kati the Westin Award for Excellence in Music Performance for her contributions to musical life at the university. She graduated Magna cum Laude and with Honors for her research on interpretation of Bach and the International Style of the Late Baroque and its continued legacy into present day flute music.
