Randall Zwally

Randall Zwally, Director of Guitar Studies at Messiah College, holds Master’s Degrees in Guitar Performance (West Chester University) and Library Science (Clarion University) with an emphasis in music librarianship. He has also completed postgraduate music studies at Texas Christian University, Johns Hopkins University, Manhattan School of Music, and Ithaca College. He has done postgraduate guitar studies with Richard Provost (University of Hartford) and Julian Gray (Peabody Conservatory). After earning his undergraduate degree from West Chester University in Music Education he taught music in the public schools at the elementary level.


He has been a member of the music faculty at Messiah College for over twenty years where he founded and directs the college’s Guitar Ensemble. His guitar-related articles are published regularly in: Notes, The National Journal of the Music Library Association.  Senior Lecturer Zwally has co-lead three Cross-Cultural Courses to Spain for Messiah, exploring the role of the guitar in the history and culture of that country. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Susquehanna Folk Music Society and is a certified Suzuki Guitar Instructor.
