Shawn M. Gingrich serves as Director of the Concert Handbell Choir at Messiah College. Shawn is a graduate of Lebanon Valley College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education and a Bachelor of Music degree in Sacred Music. His graduate degree, a Master of Music in Sacred Music, is from Westminster Choir College of Rider University. He has studied handbell leadership under Donald Allured, Phyllis Treby Hentz, Suzanne Riehl, and Kathleen Ebling-Thorne. Shawn also directs the Hershey Handbell Ensemble, an auditioned community group. In addition to directing Shawn is also an avid solo handbell ringer and has studied this art under Christine Anderson, Nancy Hascall, and Sueda Lutrell. Shawn serves First United Methodist Church of Hershey, PA as Director of Music Ministry where he oversees a graded choir program for voices and handbells, and serves as organist.
