Silent Auction

This year ACSD is organizing a Silent Auction to benefit the work of the   Mennonite Central Committee and Haiti Relief. The 2010 Silent Auction will be held at the Annual Conference. Institutions and individuals from around the United States will donate items or services to be auctioned, and conference attendees will have the opportunity to bid on them. The highest bidder on each item at the end of the allotted bidding time "wins" the prize. Individuals are welcome to bid on more than one item and may bid as many times on each item as they would like.

In order to do this, we need your help! Please consider donating “new” items or your services to be auctioned, as well as placing bids on items that are on the auction block. We thank you for your support, and wish you the best of luck with your bidding!

The institution or an individual will receive credit for providing the item or service. Receipts will be available at the Conference Registration Desk in Mountain View when you drop off your item on Monday, June 7th .  (For those interested, there will also be the Annual Give-Away. These events are separate unique events).

Conference Schedule

A NOTE ON THE 2010 CONFERENCE SCHEDULE FROM THE ACSD EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE:

We are very grateful to the Messiah College student life staff for all the work that they are putting into the 2010 annual conference.  It will be an amazing week and you won’t want to miss it!  One of the exciting changes for this year has to do with the conference schedule itself which you will want to review carefully when making travel arrangements.

The Messiah planning team and ACSD executive committee have decided to “pilot” a schedule that places excursions on Thursday rather than Wednesday allowing for more concentrated professional development (i.e., workshops and plenary sessions) that is less likely to interfere with individual travel schedules.  Of course, we strongly encourage people to stay for the Thursday morning worship / commissioning service and excursions which will still be terrific and worth the extra day!  This has been an idea that has been suggested many times and we’d like to try it this year to see how it works for those attending the conference.  The member survey that we conducted in June 2009 indicated significant support and openness to modifying the schedule in this way and we will assess this change after the conference to see how everyone likes it (or not).  Thanks in advance for your willingness to try something new and exciting and we look forward to your feedback (we are not committed to this format for the future if people don’t like it)!

The ACSD annual conference is undoubtedly the “best deal” around for personal and professional enrichment and we look forward to seeing you in Pennsylvania!
