Become a Part of Messiah College Traditions and Annual Events
This is a weekend set aside at the end of September for your family to visit you on campus after you’ve had some time to adjust to college life. Weekend activities include movies, midnight roller-skating, a family prayer breakfast, canoeing on the Yellow Breeches, a Family Fun Fair, lectures, swimming, a men’s soccer game, and more!
Soccer is a really big tradition at Messiah and home games always attract a following of faithful Falcon fans. Find out why U.S. News & World report ranked Messiah as the #3 "Top college for soccer fans" in the nation!
A full slate of Homecoming events bring students, alumni, and families to campus for reunions, athletic and cultural events, alumni competitions, and family activities like the Falcon Fun Run, Powderpuff football, canoe trips, and the most recent Messiah tradition--the student "White-out" march before the big soccer game!
Residence halls and off-campus satellite houses host fall festivals including fall traditions like pumpkin-carving, cider-pressing, and caramel apple-dipping.

Held each April, this is a fun and unique day to serve together as a community, either as a volunteer for Special Olympics—held each year on campus—or on any one of many outreach teams throughout the local area. Students, faculty, and staff all have the day off to go out and serve in the community.
