Financial Aid Timeline

 

December

 

• All students who have been accepted for admission for the upcoming fall semester are sent a packet of financial aid application forms at the Christmas preceding their enrollment (Christmas 2007 for the 2008–2009 academic year).

 

January–March

 

• Complete the FAFSA as soon as possible after January 1 so that it will be RECEIVED IN OUR OFFICE by our April 1 priority deadline. We recommend mailing or completing the FAFSA on the Web (www.fafsa.ed.gov) by March 1 in order to meet this deadline
• Complete other forms from the financial aid packet as instructed on those forms.
• After filing your FAFSA, you will receive a Student Aid Report with the results of your application. This will come in paper format or via electronic mail if you gave an e-mail address when you completed your FAFSA. Review this and make any corrections that are needed. Any changes will be automatically sent to Messiah College.

 

March 15

 

• Beginning about March 15, the Messiah College Office of Financial Aid will start to review financial aid applications and send out financial aid award notices. A notice that your online award is ready to view will be mailed to your home address.
• Contact the Office of Financial Aid if you have questions about your award.

 

April

 

• If you have not yet done so, pay your enrollment deposit on or before May 1 to secure your spot at Messiah College.
