Okay, we know lots of colleges say things like that, but here are just a few examples of how you’ll see it played out at Messiah College.
On our campus it’s not unusual to find professors eating lunch or having after-class conversations with students, or to see our president teaching a class or listening to what’s on students’ minds at one of her popular Pizza with the Prez events or frequent Open Doors days.
These kinds of things happen on a fairly regular basis at Messiah. That’s because taking a personal interest in our students is a priority for us. And it’s not just something we say we do—it’s something you can see for yourself —because it’s what really happens here!
But you shouldn’t just take our word for it. Here’s what our students have to say:
“Professor Caroselli has such a magnetic, approachable personality and an infectious love for her subject. She cares about the individual and lives a non-judgmental, absolutely Christian life.”
“Professor Lauermann is always there for her students and willing to go the extra mile to ensure their academic success.”
"Professor Stowman truly cares about students; it’s visible in the care he puts into each student’s success, both as a musician and as a whole person.”
"Professor Peterson has helped me take the focus off myself and turn it toward others. In short, his love and passion for teaching has taught me to be a better servant.”
There’s another way we’re different from even some other Christian colleges, and that is that every Messiah College professor and employee signs a statement of faith as an indication of her or his commitment to the mission of the College. That makes an important difference to you, your parents, and the whole Messiah College community.
The bottom line is, if you’re like most students, you want to have an amazing experience as a college student, but you also want to make a difference and be successful in your life after graduation. That’s what we want for you, too. And that’s why we’re so committed to encouraging, challenging, and supporting you at Messiah College—intellectually, personally, and spiritually—every step of the way.
