The Engle Center for Counseling and Health Services is located next to Larsen Student Union, in the center of campus. Our Health Services provides 24 hours-a-day coverage by registered nurses and appointments with the Nurse Practitioner at specified times. We also cooperate with specialists off-campus as needed. There is a fee to see the Nurse Practitioner as well as charges for medications and some procedures. We have a Self Care Room designed to assist you in diagnosing and treating yourself for common ailments and guidance when you need to seek further medical assistance. We want to help you learn beneficial life-long health habits and attitudes.

To assist us in doing our job, we need information from you.

The Online Student Health History and Health Record and Examination forms (which can be accessed through the Health Services channel) are to be completed by you and your physician and returned to Health Services prior to June 15th. Before you begin classes you must meet the immunization requirements on the form. Failure to comply will result in registration delays. If there is additional physical or mental health information we should know in more detail than this form permits, including a need to be excused from our physical education requirement, please have your physician or therapist forward the information directly to Health Services. If you need a special classroom or living accommodations, notify the Student Life Office immediately at (717) 691-6041.

Students participating in intercollegiate athletics
|
|
Students participating in intercollegiate athletics must complete the health form as well. Students in intercollegiate athletics have some insurance coverage for injuries related to their particular sport. Any student may purchase a separate injury and illness policy through the College. Details of that plan are available in the Student Life Office.

Before you return your Health Form, have you done the following?
|
- Have a completed physical exam from your home physician.
- Meet all immunization requirements and fill in all dates. Items often neglected: 2 measles vaccines and both must be after the 1st birthday; tetanus booster within the past 10 years; Mantoux Tuberculosis skin test or chest X-ray within the past 12 months; Mandatory Meningitis Vaccine or Sign Waiver.
- Check to make sure your physician filled in all items.
- Sign your form.
- Make sure every space on the entire form is complete. (This even includes often missed items such as social security number, insurance numbers, physician's phone number, emergency contact number, family history, etc.)
In the past, about 75% of the forms have been returned with something incomplete. By having every item complete, you will not need to wait in the Health Services line when you come to campus. We look forward to having you with us on campus. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions about our Health Services.
