Messiah Welcomes Transfer Students!
There are many reasons to transfer to Messiah College to complete your bachelor’s degree. Each year Messiah College welcomes over 100 transfer students from other colleges and universities around the country. As a transfer student, you will receive the same quality education and Christian spiritual growth opportunities enjoyed by all students.
Please feel free to contact the Admissions Office at 1-800-233-4220 or 717-691-6000 if you have any questions. We look forward to serving you. In fact, Messiah has an admissions counselor specially designated as a resource for transfer students to help guide you through the admissions process.
If you are a transfer student applying to Messiah College for the first time, you may request an application from the Admissions Office, download an application from your computer, or complete the online version now by clicking on Apply to Messiah. Please submit an application for admission, college transcript(s), and the Christian Life Recommendation Form. If you have completed 30 or more college credits at the time of application, secondary school transcripts and SAT/ACT results are not required for admission. However, these materials are required if you wish to be considered for transfer scholarships.
If you have previously applied to Messiah College and now wish to be considered for transfer, you should complete an application for readmission/reactivation (PDF) and send any updated transcripts to the Admissions Office.
Messiah College operates on a rolling admissions policy which means we will review your application and make an admission decision once all necessary materials have been received.
Admission to Messiah College is selective. We seek students who desire to be part of a challenging academic environment and who are committed to Christ. We encourage transfer students to have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 in order to gain acceptance to the college. Attention is also given to your application, essays, and recommendations.
Enrollment is limited in certain majors and programs offered by the College. Some majors require additional application to the program after a student is accepted to the College, in which case prerequisite courses, passing test scores, or a specific minimum GPA attainment may be required prior to entering the major. Applicants who are accepted for admission to the College, but who cannot be accommodated in the major or program of their choice, will be permitted to select another major. Those deciding to enter the College as an undeclared student must meet all departmental requirements for the major they will eventually select. Undeclared students are not guaranteed entrance into any major they choose, since programs with limited capacity may be closed. Transfer applicants should refer to the catalog for more information on specific major requirements.
Although an admissions interview is not normally required, it is strongly recommended that you visit Messiah’s campus. This provides you with the ideal opportunity to share your accomplishments, discuss the transfer process, and learn more about Messiah’s diverse programs. Your conversation with an admissions counselor may last approximately 1 hour, and is either followed or preceded by a campus tour with a Messiah student. Be sure to bring a copy of your transcript(s) in order to have an unofficial evaluation of your credit completed. The campus visit allows you to personalize your impressions of Messiah College and to collect the necessary information to make a wise college choice. If you are unable to visit, we encourage you to contact the Admissions Office with any questions you may have. Please click here to Schedule a Campus Visit.

The amount of the Provost's Scholarship award may be adjusted upon receipt of new information at any time prior to June 1 for fall enrollment. Adjustments to Provost's Scholarships are not allowed after June 1.
