Emily Nell-Yellow Bird ’03

major: B.S., elementary education, with a concentration in art
current location: Great Falls, Montana

My husband and I own and operate Black Pinto Horse Fine Arts, inspired by our two greatest passions, children and fine art. As innovative entrepreneurs, we develop partnerships with educational institutions, galleries, museums, corporations, art councils and philanthropic organizations throughout the nation, reaching the hearts and minds of individuals of all ages.

As Promotional Director, I am motivated to find new ways to enhance our company and navigate unknown waters toward new ventures. My responsibilities require great attention to detail, as well as dedication, determination, drive, ingenuity, honesty and much hard work—characteristics many of my professors at Messiah reinforced.

I cultivate the skills learned at Messiah to work with administration, teachers and students to provide interdisciplinary workshops and educational programs. In addition to my husband’s kind heart and compassion, Messiah helped to instill the importance of giving—we feel it is essential to give back to communities and help those who can’t help themselves, which we accomplish by working with charitable organizations.
