Messiah Aquatics: What Is Swim School?
Messiah College Swim School Program is simply designed to teach children of many different ages and swimming skill levels how to swim. By creating a fun and safe environment, the teachers provide kids with the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to enjoy swimming and water safety.

All teachers are certified lifeguards and/or certified water safety instructors. All swim school teachers are a part of the pool staff at Messiah College, and are committed to helping each student maximize their swimming potential. Each child receives quality
instruction and practice opportunities during class time. There is also time allotted for teaching water safety principles and practicalities.

Class sizes exist with the student-teacher ratio of 5:1 for preschool and parent-child and an 8:1 ratio for levels 1 thru 6. Most classes are 45 minutes long, while preschool and parent-child classes are 30 minutes long. These standards are set according to the American Red Cross.

We look forward to seeing you at the pool!
