Messiah Aquatics: What Is Swim School?
The Messiah College Swim School Program is designed to teach children of many different ages and swimming skill levels how to swim.  By creating a fun and safe environment, teachers provide children with the opportunity to learn the skills necessary to enjoy swimming and water safety.

All teachers are certified lifeguards and/or certified water safety instructors.  All swim school teachers are a part of the pool staff at Messiah College, and are committed to helping students maximize their swimming potential.  Each child receives quality

instruction and practice opportunities during class time.  There is also time allotted for teaching water safety principles and practices.

Class sizes exist with the usual student-teacher ratio of 4:1 for preschool and parent-child, a 5:1 ratio for level 1, a 6:1 ratio for level 2, and an 8:1 ratio for the remaining levels. Preschool and parent-child classes are 30 minutes long.  Levels 1 - 6 meet for 45 minutes.

We look forward to seeing you at the pool!

Swimming.
It's more than just a sport.
It's a tool for survival.
