Coach Price returns to the Falcon dugout for his first season after a stellar playing career for Messiah. A three-year teammate of Head Coach Bryan Engle, Price was a 2002 graduate of Messiah and former Commonwealth Conference Player of the Year in 2001. A standout shortstop and pitcher in college, named to the All-Conference team three times, Price oversees the corner infielders while also holding down duties as the first-base coach.
“It’s an honor to coach at the place where I played,” noted Price. “I have so many great memories of Messiah College and now I feel blessed to be able to return in this capacity. The young men that come through this program will certainly be appreciative for the opportunities they are given by being student-athletes at Messiah.”
Price holds many records at Messiah, including most single-season complete games (nine) and single-season shutouts, with three. From a career perspective, Price holds records for: complete games (22), shutouts (seven), innings pitched (241.6), and strikeouts (256). The righty also is in the top five in career categories when it comes to wins (16), starts (35) and ERA (2.49).
Price lives in nearby Mechanicsburg with his wife, Christina, and one-year old daughter, Keira. Christina was a three-time All-Region softball player and a 2001 All-American shortstop at Messiah.
