Grantham, PA – Two players of the Messiah Falcons field hockey team were named to the Division III All-American team, per the NCAA.

Senior Kourtney Ehly was named as a First-Team All-American and junior Juliana Hershey was selected to the Third-Team.

It was Ehly’s third consecutive distinction, and culminates a tremendous career for the fifth-year senior forward that included a Commonwealth Conference Rookie of the Year award, four All-Conference nominations, and three selections as an All-American.

This year, Ehly scored 10 goals and tallied 11 assists for the Falcons, leading the team in assists and shots on goal (41). Perhaps the most telling statistic of Ehly’s importance to the Falcons has been wins: Messiah was 72-10 in Ehly’s four years with the team, earning three trips to the NCAA National Semi-Finals and two appearances in the national championship game.

Hershey was a sparkplug for the Falcons this season, leading the team with 23 goals – six of those game-winners. She also provided eight assists, giving her a 3.00 points per game average that ranks tied for 12th best in the entire nation.

Hershey notched an unprecedented four hat tricks, including one in the Commonwealth Conference Semi-Finals game against Elizabethtown University. The All-American selection was the first of her career.
