Assistant Field Hockey Coach Brooke Good
2011 will begin Brooke's ninth year as Assistant Field Hockey Coach at Messiah.
Her main responsibilitiy is coaching the varsity defense. She works with team defensive strategy as well as improving individual defensive ability.
Brooke brings an incredible amount of expertise and knowledge to the coaching staff. In 2005 she was an instructor for the U.S. Hockey Futures program and currently continues to play club field hockey locally.
Brooke is a 2003 Messiah College graduate who earned numerous field hockey honors as a centerback and center midfielder during her four-year career at Messiah. She was a Commonwealth Conference All-Star three times from 2000 to 2002. Good made the NCAA Final Four All-Tournament Team as a senior in 2002, and was also a 2nd Team NCAA All-American.
What many people may not know about Brooke is that she was a multi-sport athlete. Besides from a four-year career in hockey, she also played softball for four years at Messiah as well. As a catcher and utility player Good was again a three time Commonwealth Conference All-Star ('01,'02,'03) and a Regional All-American in 2003.
After graduating Messiah in 2003 Brooke went on to Millersville University where she obtained her M.Ed. in Sport Management in 2006. She currently is an Adjunct Instructor in Sport Management at Messiah. Furthermore, Good is the Assistant Sports Information Director as well as a Gameday Administrator for Athletic events.
"It has been a privelage to coach at my alma mater. I have gained so much experience as an undergraduate student here and to give back and continue to impact the lives of current student-athletes has been a wonderful opportunity," Brooke said of her time here at Messiah.
"Brooke is an invaluable addition to our staff, as she has naturally transitioned from player to coach," stated head field hockey coach Jan Trapp of having Brooke on her staff.
Brooke also owns and operates a small business in Avalon, New Jersey properly entitled "It's All Good."
