Langhorne, PA - In the home opener for the Crimson Eagles of Philadelphia Biblical University, the visiting Messiah College Falcons rolled to a 79-52 victory on Tuesday night.

"It was great to go on the road tonight and even our record back to the .500 mark," said Messiah Head Coach, Rick Van Pelt. "We have been on a stretch of away games so we are now anxious to return to our home court and home fans."

Messiah (2-2) jumped out to an early lead with a 12-0 run to start the contest before PBU (0-3) got on the board. The Falcons would manage to spread their lead to 37-13 with just over three minutes remaining in the opening period before settling for a 39-19 advantage at the break.

To open the second stanza, Messiah and PBU traded buckets for the first 10 minutes of play. However, a jumper by Messiah with 6:49 to play stretched Messiah's lead to its biggest of the game at 69-33.

Senior Darryl Brown led a trio of Falcons in double-digits with 17 points while classmate Johnny Boyd chipped in 14 points. Sophomore forward Andy Hawk reached double-digits with 10 points. Sophomore Ryan Witmer pulled in a game-high nine rebounds, a column in which the Falcons held a 48-22 advantage on the night.

"We had the opportunity to play a lot of guys this evening," said Van Pelt. "We can now move forward and get ready for our next three games, which will come in a period of four days."

Messiah returns to action next Wednesday, December 5, in their home opener. The Falcons will battle Scranton University in a contest slated to begin at 7:30. That weekend, Messiah hosts the Messiah College Invitational, as the Falcons welcome Juniata College, Manhattanville College and Penn State-Harrisburg.
