In his freshman year David played in 25 games and started 19 games. He averaged 25 minutes a game and just under 11 points per contest. David shot 50% from the field and had 5 rebounds per game. He also added 47 assists and 23 steals.
Personal
David Fernandez is from Miami, Florida and is a Business Administration major with a minor in pre-law at Messiah. Little known facts about David are that he collects shoes (he has over 60 pairs) and he writes poetry. His best basketball memory was hitting two free throws in his freshman season to beat E-town. His hobbies other than basketball include: poetry, weightlifting, scubadiving and snowboarding. The person that David admires the most is his mother. His favorite food is Mac and Cheese. Fringe and the White Shadow are his favorite TV shows, while Hitch and Glory Road are his favorite movies. If David could vacation anywhere he would go to Colorado. If he could meet anyone in history he would love to meet Michael Jordan. In the future David plans to play basketball overseas and would like to get his law degree from the Univeristy of Miami.
