Coach Fogelsanger serves as the men's and women's head track & field coach at Messiah and as an instructor in the Biology department. Fogelsanger is an '87 graduate of Messiah College and received his M.Ed. in Biology. Coach Fogelsanger still holds a Messiah track and field record. Prior to employment at Messiah, Fogelsanger was a successful cross country and track & field high school coach for seven years, where he achieved county and state honors. The Messiah teams are often hosted at the nearby Fogelsanger household by wife, Denise, and daughters, Andrea, Ashley and Amber.

Coach Fogelsanger founds his teams on open communication and a balanced lifestyle, as he works to build the confidence of his runners. Likewise, he consistently integrates the Christian faith in his teams, working to perfect the whole person. Coach Fogelsanger says, with each new season he strives to provide opportunities for each athlete "to become more self-motivated, team-enriched, and Christ-centered." He loves the Messiah college community and strives to enhance each indiviudals experience.
