
Dr Cynthia Wells has served at Messiah College since 1998. She teaches in the college's interdisciplinary studies program, and serves as a member of the Steering Committee for college's core course, Created and Called for Community. She coordinates the Boyer Scholars program, which recognizes and mentors a select group of Messiah College seniors.
Dr. Wells has served on the research team for the Boyer Partnership Assessment Project, which assessed learning outcomes associated with Academic Affairs - Student Affairs Partnership programs. Components of this research have been published in the Journal of College Student Development and will be published in book form by Jossey-Bass (anticipated 2009). Dr. Wells contributed "Beyond Rhetoric: Composing a Common Community Experience" to the text Creating Campus Community: In Search of Boyers' Legacy, edited by B. McDonald (2002). Additionally, she wrote "Experiencing the Incarnation" for College Faith: 150 College Leaders and Educators Share their Faith Stories from Their College Years, edited by R. Knott (2002).
Her interdisciplinary scholarship interests include faith formation and personal narrative, with particular emphasis on spiritual and multi-ethnic life narrative.
