Jesse Meekins

Jesse Meekins is the second oldest of seven siblings, whom have all grown up in Tuxedo NY. He is a junior Christian Ministries major, and will possibly concentrate in congregational ministry. Presently, he is both a life group intern and coordinator in Naugle.

His interest in ministry began in high school. His youth pastor was a particularly influential person in his life. Jesse often shadowed him, and took up any opportunity to be a leader on youth retreats or speak during youth nights. “He poured a lot of time into me,” Jesse says of his youth pastor. “He took time out of his schedule for me.” When his father encouraged him to attend a Christian college, he decided that he would follow the path of ministry himself.

The only thing that Jesse is certain of in his future is what he will be doing once he graduates: “seminary, that’s next.” After pursuing a higher education, there are several vocational paths he may take. Jesses has a burden for adults that are poverty stricken in the United States, simply because “that’s where I see the need”. He may become a pastor, or possibly missions, maybe work with church planning. What ever he may end up becoming, Jesse is sure it will be unconventional.
