In the third game, Messiah was able to turn back to fundamental volleyball and won the game, putting the match to 2-1. The fourth game sealed the victory for the Falcons. Messiah jumped off to a quick start and got the crowd out of the game. With this boost of confidence, the Falcons quickly finished off Penn College 3 games to 1. Next up was Penn State Altoona. These three quick games turned out to be a lot less exciting for the Falcons. Messiah was able to ride the emotional wave they got with the win over Penn College and quickly took out the Lions. With these two wins, Messiah was able to jump ahead of PSU Altoona in the division.

Falcons Soar Over the Owls [Mar. 23, 2006]

Keeping much of the same line up, the Falcons started off hot. In the middle of the match though, they allowed the Owls to come back into the game and tie up the score. After a motivating time-out, the men went back onto the court and pulled out a win by only 4 points, 25-21. In the third game, Coach Porr made a few more substitutions and the Falcons were able to win again and take the match. The third game brought even more changes, including the setting debut of Jeff Hackman. Despite his lack of experience, Messiah still stomped Dickinson, 25-13.

The men traveled to Juniata College for their first tournament of the season against some NCAA Division III, II, and even I schools. The Men faced St. Francis first thing at 8:00 in the morning. It was a great learning experience to play against upper level schools throughout the day. The men played very well, considering the teams they played. In the afternoon, the Falcons even defeated PSU Club! It was a great day for the men as they gained a lot of experience and practice.
