Prof Jay ForthJulian Forth

Lecturer in Theology

Having completed my Master of Divinity at Duke University, I am joining the faculty of Messiah College for the 2009-2010 academic year.  My interests include theology, continental philosophy, and peace and social action.  I find particularly fascinating the work of Meister Eckhart and Paul Tillich.  I also follow the works of Soren Kierkegaard, Friedrich Nietzsche, and Jacques Derrida.

Furthermore, I have served as an intern at Church of the Saviour in Washington, D.C. and for two years I have lived in an intentional Christian community dedicated to prayer, hospitality, and living simply.  In light of my interests, my future goals may lead me to pursue further academic studies or to work with agencies which advocate social reform.
