Field Experience
That's because Messiah's management and business students are doers-they enjoy digging in for hands-on experiences as much as they enjoy classroom learning.
So they take the initiative to make things happen.
By doing all these things, our students are improving their communications skills
—something businesses repeatedly say they want in their employees. Of course, communications skills are also developed in class when students do things like:
 |
participate in simulated arbitration hearings between management and labor (Labor Relations class); |
 |
work on teams to develop a national advertising campaign (Advertising class); |
 |
develop a portfolio of business writing samples (Business Writing class and all accounting majors). |
Taking the initiative and communicating are what it's all about. In fact, those abilities are important for more than just business success
—they are also essential for bringing Christ into the business world, and, ultimately, that's what Messiah's management and business students are preparing to do.
