Here's what some of our alumni are saying........
"After interviewing for a job, I received an email 15 minutes after the interview that they wanted to take me on for a chemist position. I was the only undergraduate college student hired without any previous experience. They interviewed many but usually only hire chemists with experience (or extensive research experience while in school) because they found many college graduates did not know how to operate most instruments or understand the theory behind them. They were very impressed with my education and said I must have had a unique and impressive undergraduate experience! Most students are not able to answer the same level of questions. So that is a great testimony to Messiah and the education I received from the Chemistry Department." ~ Cherice Bunce ('09)
"I think the most important thing I've learned besides the scientific knowledge is that, contrary to popular belief, science and faith can coincide quite easily. So many times people believe that to be a scientist means you can't be a Christian as well. To have professors who are willing to talk about their faith as it relates to their field helped to solidify the notion that science and Christianity aren't necessarily polar opposites." ~ Jeremy Balsbaugh ('06) is a Ph.D. chemistry student at the University of Virginia
"I intend on being a life long learner and my courses here have taught me how to go farther than learn merely for the test." ~ Cullen Schmid ('05) is a Ph.D. neuroscience student at The Ohio State University
"I learned a lot about what is really important in life (love God and love your neighbor), and that I should tailor my goals around those important things." ~ Sarah Schroeder ('05)
"My outside of class interactions with faculty, friends, and peers have helped me to truly and realistically pursue my notion of vocation." ~ Bill Deal ('04) is a a high school chemistry teacher
