As a student in the Messiah College Department of Communication, you’ll step into a world of possibilities. Through a common core of courses, you’ll learn to communicate ethically, listen effectively, and resolve issues graciously. Building on this strong foundation, you’ll gain specialized knowledge and practical skills in one of six majors:
All of our majors offer you both rigorous coursework and hands-on experience, along with the flexibility to double major, minor, or study abroad. Our broadcasting, film and media arts, and journalism majors all spend at least one required semester at our Messiah College Philadelphia Campus in conjunction with Temple University. Students in our other majors also often take advantage of an enrichment semester in this exciting urban setting.
As you explore new ideas and hone skills, you’ll find yourself encouraged to consider ways that your faith intersects with your chosen major. From stimulating class discussions to applied projects, from service-learning to building “COMMunity” with faculty and students in the department, we’ll challenge you to grow academically, spiritually, and personally.
