Messiah's concentration in film and digital media focuses on developing gifted filmmakers and industry professionals by grounding them in aesthetics, theory, history, writing and production skills. We believe strongly that our faculty should be practitioners as well as scholars. As a result, each of our faculty has significant industry training and experience and continues to be active in production and scholarship.

Concentration Overviewfilm

  • Work and learn in Parmer Cinema, our screening facility on campus.  (Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound, 16/35 mm and digital media projection, 134 person capacity)
  • Acquire training in digital editing, 16 mm film production, cinematography, basic directing, and screenwriting.
  • Study at the Messiah College Philadelphia Campus (partnership with Temple University)
  • Hone your professional skills with a required 6 credit internship at a major film studio (Sony, Warner Brothers, Universal or Paramount) through the Temple University Los Angeles Internship Center
  • Integrate Christian faith in your personal studies of film
