Dance is movement and rhythm, expression and technique, fitness and form.

And at Messiah College, it’s also worship.

If you desire to major in dance and pursue a career on stage, or you want to dance publicly as an expression of worship or you wish to continue honing your skills, Messiah can accommodate your goals.

Dance performance and ministry

In the classroom you can take dance classes to work towards a dance major, dance minor or musical theatre major. Dance classes also help to fulfill your physical education credits. Dance courses are taught by professional dancers and focus on history, technique, artistry and performance.

Beyond the classroom you can select from a variety of dance options – there’s the new dance performance ensemble, a fun and lively Swing Dance Club that meets weekly; the student-led dance team, Acclamation, that practices and performs everything from ballet to flags and jazz to modern; and ministry teams—Da Blazin’ Footprints, God’s Kingdom Steppers and Spirit Force—that travel and perform at churches and youth events.
