| I chose this program because other Messiah graduates had recommended it for its comprehensive studies surrounding American themes, eras, and cultural analysis. |
Preparation for Teaching: |
Messiah gave me an unparalleled foundation for teaching. The challenge of any teaching program is to prepare individuals for a career where the responsibilities on day one are no different from the last. Messiah, understanding these limitations, provided me with an essential foundation that provided a framework for approaching new challenges within the classroom. The History Department equipped me with the historical analysis to challenge students to think historically. Equally important, the Education Department provided me with the tools to not only manage my classroom, but to ultimately reach all of my students in a creative and yet authentic manner.

Favorite Messiah Memory:
My favorite memory was meeting Natasha, who is now my wife, in Lottie Nelson dining hall. |
What He Loves about Teaching:
The students. Their passion for my class and seeing them enjoying history. |
What it Means to be A Christian Educator in a Professional Setting:
It means that I am held to a standard of excellence, not by the district or state, but by God. I am accountable for the resources I provide these students with and the lives that I encourage them to live. |
