Teacher Education & Certification

Teacher Education Program Handbook

Students who expect to be certified to teach need to apply to the Teacher Education Program as soon as they have met requirements.  Generally, students should expect to apply as sophomores.

General information about what students need to do to apply can be found at our FAQ page.

The information referenced below outlines policies/practices that should serve as an overall guide to your participation in any component of the Teacher Education Program. This is not intended to be an all-inclusive listing of policies, but rather a brief review of guidelines that overarch all components of the program and that you, the teacher education student, need to be aware of early in your affiliation with the program. Other policies/practices are reviewed at other points in the handbook where they may be more relevant to a particular topic or activity.
