International Opportunities

Global awareness and involvement is central to Messiah College's mission.  Many of our students are interested in study abroad opportunities and/or missions and job opportunities outside of the United States.  We encourage our students to think globally in their service and to use the opportunities available while at college to explore these opportunities for international involvement.

We invite students who want to be teachers to consider the possibility of using the skills they have developed at Messiah to work cross-culturally. We have created this website as a point of contact to "get the conversation going," to encourage students to think beyond what is comfortable, and to consider possibilities beyond the traditional approach.

International schools recruit teacher education graduates at Messiah throughout the year, and we encourage students to be alert to the announcements and take advantage of the opportunity to learn more first-hand about the opportunities that are available. Below you will find a listing of international schools who have asked us to partner with them in spreading the word about opportunities available for teachers in their schools. We invite you to take some time to explore these websites.

• The Unidad Académica Campesina-Carmen Pampa (UAC-CP) is a unique college in rural Bolivia that provides access to higher education and social service extension activities for indigenous people living in one of the poorest areas of Latin America. The UAC-CP, internationally recognized for its unique approach and ability to address and dissipate root causes of poverty, is funded by the St. Paul, Minnesota-based Carmen Pampa Fund (CPF).
