Position Description : Provide outpatient counseling (individual, marital, or family) for persons with sexual and relational brokenness issues, and recruit, train, and supervise undergraduate and graduate level interns.

 

Salary Range : Varies - contract counselors = $25-$35 per hour, private practice = $80-$100 per hour

 

Previously Held Positions : Counselor (private practice), Behavioral Specialist, Mobile Therapist - Community Mental Health

 

Courses Found Most Helpful : Marriage and family courses, developmental psychology, interpersonal relationships, and any Bible/theology courses

How the HDFS Program Has Helped Prepare Her for Work : It provided me a solid educational foundation that prepared me for both my work after college and my graduate studies.

 

How Faith Interfaces with Work: In any helping profession, it is vital to know who you are and what you believe. My faith comes into place daily as I work to convey hope to people who have been abused. I also aid them in finding truth and meaning when they have been taught lies and experienced helplessness.
