 As a family studies major at Messiah College I attended Building Strong Families Conferences. Through this annual conference I was able to:

• Learn how research informs practice in family science.
• Hear first hand how a variety of professionals are serving families and communities.
• Share my own undergraduate research by way of a poster session.
• Network with scholars and professionals in the field.

Building Strong Families conferences are a great way for you to broaden your knowledge of families and how best to serve them. The conference provides you the experience of hearing from family scholars, clinicians, and human service workers from various backgrounds, institutions, and organizations. In addition, the conference provides an excellent venue to present undergraduate research through its poster session where cash prizes are awarded.

Attending Building Strong Families conferences while I was a student at Messiah further solidified my commitment to the field of family science. The conference allowed me an experience that is often reserved for those in graduate school, thus giving me an advantage later in my academic career.
