Alumni Quotes
"Messiah's Health and Human Performance Department does an incredible job preparing you for the professional world. During my interview with the Frederick County Public Schools, they were so impressed with Messiah's health and physical education program that they asked me for a copy of our department's student teaching handbook. The professors in the department are some of the most warm and caring people. They start out being your teachers and mentors, and quickly become your friends and family. The professors truly want to see you succeed in all aspects of your life, and they go above and beyond to help you achieve that. Most importantly, the professors set a wonderful example of how to integrate one's faith into one's career. I am so grateful that I could be a part of the Health and Human Performance family at Messiah College!"
-Amy Murray '04, Health & Physical Education
"If Messiah College is the brick foundation for the person each student will become, then the professors of the Department of Health and Human Performance are the mortar that makes the foundation strong. The Health and Human Performance faculty are committed. Not only are they committed to their academic classroom time, they are extremely committed to the individuals who participate in their classes. After transferring in from another institution my freshman year, I often stated, because of the students and professors, I feel like a person instead of just another number. So whether that was by joining a professor for talks in his or her office, having the pleasure of joining other students for meals in a professor's home, or spending time in prayer with a professor, God certainly blessed me with an enriching experience, one that has laid the foundation for the rest of my life."
