Athletic Training

If you have an interest in sport, enjoy science, love to work with others, and have a heart to serve, then a career in athletic training may be a good fit for you. Athletic training is a growing allied health profession which prepares students to provide athletic training services to athletes and the physically active. Nationwide, public and private educational institutions, professional teams, sports medicine-related clinics, hospitals, and industrial/corporate organizations indicate a need for certified athletic trainers. Messiah College's Athletic Training Program is accredited by CAATE and meets state requirements for athletic training certification. Successful completion of Messiah's program prepares students for the Board Of Certification (BOC) examination.
Messiah College is a Christian Liberal Arts college located in South Central Pennsylvania. Students enrolled in our major thrive because of the excellent teaching, the individualized attention they receive from the Athletic Training staff and the variety of practical experiences in which they participate. Our overriding goal is to develop Christian men and women that will positively represent the athletic training profession. Our seniors pass the national certification exam at a rate that exceeds the national average and return to commend our program for the education that they have received. Graduates enter employment in high schools, physical therapy clinics, industrial/corporate settings, or enter graduate schools pursuing careers in physical therapy, physician assistant, exercise physiology, graduate athletic training programs, or other related fields.

If you are interested in exploring our major further we have included several links to help you better understand our program. We wish you well as you seek the Lord’s direction in choosing a major and college that best meets your personal and career interests.
