PHYS 494 Senior Seminar Physics (2)

Catalog Description:

This is a capstone research course, in which students conduct research on a topic of their interest and write a scientific, journal-style report about their findings. (Offered fall semester.)


Prerequisites:


PHYS 251 Modern Physics

Course Audience:


Required for physics majors.

Course Objectives:
 
  1. Review topics learned during entire course of study in physics.
  2. Learn how to retrieve and read from physics professional journals.
  3. Learn how to plan and conduct an individual research project.
  4. Develop skills in communication your results through oral and written presentations.
  5. Get familiar with professional associations and the job market for physicists.


Topics:


Students conduct research on a topic of their interest and write a scientific, journal-style report about their findings.
