Double Major in Mathematics and Computer Science


In the information given below, the student's primary major determines the Physics course options and the senior seminar choice. The minimum number of credits required to complete a double major is 83 credits.
A.
Both majors need the following common courses:

MATH 111, 112: Calculus I, II

PHYS 211, 212: General Physics I, II (required if primary major is mathematics) or PHYS 201, 202: Introductory Physics I, II

COSC 181, 182: Computer Programming I, II

COSC 494: Computer Science Seminar or MATH 494 Senior Mathematics Seminar

B.
Computer Science majors (primary) need the following to also complete a Mathematics major:  
  Complete the Mathematics major with at lealst 18 credit hours of Math major courses that are not listed in (A.) and that are not counted toward the Computer Sciences major. This means that students in this category must take the courses in (A.) above, plus all courses for the CS major, and also 6 courses with a MATH or STAT prefix that are not being counted toward the CS major. These 6 courses must include MATH 195, MATH 362, MATH 412, two of MATH 211/261/STAT 291, and one other MATH/STAT 3xx/4xx course.
