General Information

“中文课欢迎你!  zhōngwén kè huānyíng nĭ !”“Welcome to the Chinese class!” Chinese is spoken by more people than any other language in the world.  More than one-fifth of the world’s population live in China!  Beyond that, there are many Chinese people living in Southeast Asia and around the world.  From ancient time, Chinese people believed it is essential to know other’s culture before entering their territory.  This is particularly true for those interested in business and missionary opportunities in China.  Chinese people are very open to the Gospel.

China opened its doors three decades ago.  It has one of the fastest growing economies in the world, making Chinese an increasingly sought languages in the 21st century.  Learning Chinese language and culture will equip you with a better understanding of China’s culture and people, and will make you more effective in your profession whatever the path you chose.

Curriculum

CHIN 101, 102 Fundamentals of Chinese I, II.  Meets General Education Languages and Cultures requirement.

CHIN 201 Intermediate Chinese. Meets General Education Languages and Cultures requirement.
