Dr. Timothy Dixon is Director of Orchestral Activities and Associate Professor of Music at Messiah College where he teaches courses in conducting, music history and music education. Dr. Dixon has served as the conductor of the University of Iowa Philharmonia Orchestra, and the Preucil School String Orchestra. Dr. Dixon has served as the Music Director/Conductor of the Middletown Youth Symphony (OH), the Saginaw Bay Youth Orchestra (MI), the Michigan State University Musical Theater Department, and the Michigan State University Campus Orchestra. Dr. Dixon holds a B.A. and B.M. in Music and Music Education, respectively, from Miami University (OH), M.M. in Orchestral Conducting from Michigan State University, and the Doctor of Musical Arts in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Iowa, where he studied conducting with William LaRue Jones. Dr. Dixon lives with his wife, Roxanne, a general music teacher.  Visit his website at
