Recommended High School Courses for Students Interested in the Nutrition and Dietetics Major (This major is a good choice for students who wish to become Registered Dietitians, Public Health Nutrition Counselors, or Food Service Managers in Health Care)

At least 3 (preferably 4) years of college-preparatory level science (biology, chemistry, physics)

Four years of college-preparatory math, including at least trigonometry or pre-calculus. AP statistics is very helpful.
- Students who take less science than this in high school may benefit from college algebra or/and an introduction to chemistry course at a community college before beginning at Messiah.
Recommended High School Courses for Students Interested in the Nutrition Science Major (This strongly science-oriented major is a good choice for students who wish to become nutrition scientists, physicians, or physician assistants.)

Four years of college-preparatory level science (biology, chemistry physics) including at least 1 AP course in the sciences.

Four years of college-preparatory math, including at least applied calculus. AP statistics and AP calculus are very helpful.
