Academic Verification in Dietetics for
Students Who Have a Bachelor’s Degree
INTRODUCTION
The requirements for attaining the Registered Dietitian (RD) credential are established by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND), and include completion of both academic (course) requirements and a ACEND accredited dietetic internship. To meet ACEND academic requirements, an individual must hold a Baccalaureate degree granted by a U.S. regionally accredited college or university and must complete current minimum course requirements in a ACEND accredited Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) or Coordinated Program (CP).
The purpose of Messiah College’s Academic Verification Program (Non Graduation) is to assist persons who already have a Baccalaureate degree to complete ACEND minimum course requirements. The program includes:
