Assistant Professor of Sociology and Anthropology
Clay was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mississippi College. His graduate degrees were earned at Baylor University including a Master of Divinity degree from George W. Truett Theological Seminary, Master of Social Work, Master of Arts in Sociology and a Ph.D. in Sociology.
His research interests include sociology of religion, the intersection of religion and civic life in the United States, the community involvement of religious congregations, social and political movements and the work of faith-based agencies, non-profit organizations, and voluntary associations.
