Department of Psychology

Social Networking

The Department of Psychology realizes the significance of networking in modern society as well as for the enrichment of our students in their understanding of psychology and their growth as individuals. We attempt to provide students with opportunities to interact with one another and with professionals in the field, especially alumni. We believe this benefits the students by allowing them to stimulate their development as students of psychology and by providing them with a picture of what it means to work in the field of psychology as a Christian.

Psi Chi - Psi Chi, a professional student organization affiliated with the American Psychological Association, strives to provide opportunities for psychology-oriented educational opportunities Psi Chi fosters a sense of identity and enhances professional development among students and faculty interested in psychology related issues. For more information contact Dr. Charles Jantzi, or check out the Psi Chi web page.

Doing Psychology- An annual event hosted by the Psychology department, sometimes in conjunction with Psych Club, “Doing Psychology” is a great opportunity for students to learn from and interact with a professional in the field of Psychology. The Psychology Department invites a former Messiah Psychology student who is now active in the work force to return to the campus for a session of dialogue concerning his/her current career and how undergraduate education led to this vocation.
