Assistant Professor in Criminology and Criminal Justice


THE UNIVERSITY OF NORTH FLORIDA invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor position in Criminology & Criminal Justice, beginning August 2008. Area of specialization is open, with preference given to those whose expertise is in law enforcement and policing. The position requires an earned doctorate in Criminology, Criminal Justice or closely related social science discipline by the time of appointment in August 2008. Successful candidates will also have demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and research, along with an ability to mentor graduate students in our MS Program in Criminal Justice. Practical knowledge of the field a plus.

The University of North Florida is a growing regional comprehensive university on the Atlantic coast that wishes to attract faculty seeking a balance between teaching, research, and service. The vibrant city of Jacksonville offers many opportunities for collaborative research and service with local criminal justice agencies.
