You'll have outstanding training and opportunities to become a world-class performer within this interdisciplinary, accredited degree program.

This demanding professional major will prepare you for a competitive career in musical theatre, and is the only B.F.A. in Musical Theatre offered within the CCCU (Council of Christian Colleges & Universities) that is accredited by NAST (National Association of Schools of Theatre). Extensive training in acting, dancing and singing will provide you with a comprehensive performance background.

With the opportunity to be involved in a minimum of three on-campus productions, participate in music and dance ensembles and various internship opportunities, you'll gain a wealth of real-world performing experience.

As a musical theatre major at Messiah College, you'll be able to:

  • Have the opportunity to audition for touring companies of musicals, in summer stock theatre or in musical theatre offerings in New York or other major cities around the country.
  • Consider studying study at the Gaiety School of Acting in Dublin, Ireland over January-term (J-term).
  • Choose to continue your studies in a Master of Fine Arts program.
  • Connect with a community of Messiah theatre graduates that exists in New York City.
  • Have access to the Calvin and Janet High Center for Worship and Performing Arts and Climenhaga Building, home to a state-of-the-art dance studio and black box space, which is scheduled to open in 2013.
