About guest director Clair Myers Clair Myers has spent his life teaching, directing, and acting. His career as a professor of theatre began at Ohio Northern and included stints as Chair of the Department of Theatre and Communications Arts at Kalamazoo College where he established the London Program in Theatre and was artistic director of the professional summer theatre, Company, Director of the School of Drama at Illinois Wesleyan University where he established the professional Summer Company, and Dean of Arts and Humanities and Vice President of Planning at Elon University where he established one of the strongest undergraduate musical theatre programs in higher education. Many of his students have moved into the professional theatre in New York and the film industry in Los Angeles or into the academic world. While Dr. Myers is in residence at Messiah College, he will stage an original one-woman show based on Violet Oakley in the three rooms for which she painted murals in the Pennsylvania Capital. He will also appear in Bob Crawford’s new play at Allenberry Playhouse in Boiling Springs. Clair holds the M. A. and Ph.D. from the University of Michigan |
