A Thurber Carnival
Playwright: James Thurber
Dates: October 7-11 @ 8pm
Guest Director: Bob Crawford

James Thurber, the beloved American humorist, pokes light-hearted fun at Americans and their unique foibles. Thurber suggests in his introduction to the bestseller that this collection of short stories is about “a period which extended roughly from the year Lindbergh flew the Atlantic to the day coffee was rationed.” Come discover why the dramatization of these stories continues to delight audiences more than a half century later.

Guest Director Bob CrawfordAbout guest director Bob Crawford:
Bob Crawford , directing A Thurber Carnival, has been active in central Pennsylvania theatre for more than forty years as a writer, actor and director. His 16th Murder Mystery Weekend, The Meeting House Thriller, will open at Allenberry Playhouse in October and his 9th Christmas show, Growing Up Kringle, will open there in November. Other works have been produced at the Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg, Open Stage of Harrisburg, Mt. Gretna and Lincoln Center. He has directed for Theatre Harrisburg, the Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg, and area high schools. Bob lives in Mechanicsburg with his wife, Mimi.
