2006-2007 Season Inherit the Wind Playwright: Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee Performance Dates: April 19, 20, 21, 26, 27, 28 at 8 p.m.; April 22, 29 at 2 p.m. Directed by Kristopher Yoder About the Show … Inherit the Wind is a fictional retelling of the famous 1925 "Scopes Monkey" Trial, a case which still pits evolutionists and creationists against one another. In the play, a small town high school teacher stands accused of violating a state law banning the teaching of evolution in the classroom and those who oppose his views. Written more than 50 years ago, the play continues to fuel national and local debates. About director Kristopher Yoder… A classically trained actor, Mr. Yoder studied at the Moscow Art Theatre School, Moscow, Russia, and has attended master classes with the Royal Shakespeare Company, and actors from the Shaw and Stratford Festivals, Ontario, Canada. Mr. Yoder received his B.A. in Theatre from DeSales University and his M.F.A in acting from Wayne State University. Mr. Yoder recently taught acting in Sarospatak, Hungary, and at Messiah College in January 2006. As a character actor, some of his favorite roles include foppish dandies, conservative priests, knife-wielding hillbillies, and gun-toting crazy uncles. He is a member of Actor’s Equity Association. Mr. Yoder will be teaching Introduction to Acting at Messiah College and at Muhlenberg College in Allentown this fall. |
