PRODUCTION PHOTOS

Joseph, a young man with a knack for having prophetic dreams - and the favorite son in the family - incurs the jealousy of his brothers when he is given a magnificent coat of many colors by his doting father. Joseph's brothers sell him into slavery in Egypt, where his special gifts save the country from famine and eventually secure him a position as the Pharaoh's right-hand man. In due time, he is reunited with his now contrite brothers. You know the story, but you've never seen it quite like this! Guaranteed to delight and entertain audience members of any age.

It is fitting that musical theatre's most oft-produced show would have roots as inauspicious and unlikely as it's hero. Written in 1968 as a 20 minute school play for a teacher friend, Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice -- then young, unknown, and broke -- could never have dreamed how their stream-of-consciousness romp through the Old Testament story of Joseph would itself be woven into the fabric of today's pop culture. In fact it was not until the overwhelming success of their collaboration on Jesus Christ Superstar that they, anxious to ride the wave of their recent success, dusted off Joseph and revamped it for it's first professional production in 1973.

From the play's perspective, the story of Joseph and his coat of many colors is about the power of believing in your dreams, and certainly the story works at that level. At that level, we trust you'll find the story inspiring and entertaining. There is, however, a deeper level. We would be remiss if we failed to acknowledge that the real lesson of this story is about the perseverance of faith. A faith that accepts the promises of God to be more real than the actions of men. A faith that breathes a fresh wind of peace when any natural source of confidence has been completely suffocated. At this level we hope you find the story reviving -- life altering.
